The new year 2021 is knocking on the door. The much talked year 2020, is leaving. The year is about to disappear in the womb of tomorrow. But it will never be erased from the pages of history.

2020 has been marked globally as a devastating year. A tiny invisible virus has been destabilizing the earth for years. Whose terror continues yet. The virus has killed more than 1.7 million people worldwide.

At the same time, more than eighty million people are infected with COVID-19 disease. According to economists, the effects of the epidemic have cost the economy more than 10 trillion, with billions of people losing their jobs. More than 1 billion children could not go to school due to this.

This tiny virus has shattered many of people's dreams and plans over the past year or so. Many people have lost their loved ones forever.

Many people have died without the company of loved ones. This tragic helpless death has taken place all over the United States, United Kingdom and Europe, as well as Asia and Africa, in a word, all over the world.

If asked, which is the best event of the year in the world in 2020 or which is the discussed topic or character? Then anyone will unanimously say coronavirus pandemic.

The word that resonates in the ears of the world media including BBC and CNN is 'coronavirus pandemic'.

Lockdown in countries due to coronavirus epidemic. So people have been under house arrest. Billions of people in quarantine, in isolation.

As the year drew to a close, the grip of the deadly virus did not end. On the contrary, the coronavirus continues to spread in new forms. Frequent mutations are one of the hallmarks of this virus.

Hundreds of these simple transformations have already taken place. Two of the deadliest incidents occurred last week. One type of conversion is identified in the UK, the other in South Africa.

The South African type has also been identified in the UK. As a result, there are still fears about the virus. Scientists say that this coronavirus or COVID-19 disease is the biggest health crisis in the world in the last 100 years.

The new virus is called SARS-Covid-2. The full name is Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2. Although the name is very big, the virus is very small. Its length is only 120 nanometers, which is 1 part of 1 billion of 1 meter.

Simply if we put it at the tip of an alpine, 100 million virus particles can easily take up space. Just a few hundred virus particles are enough to infect it. Once infected and the symptoms of the disease appear, the disease is called ‘Covid-19’.

No other disease has made as much progress in a single year as other scientific advances made in the world in 2020 due to COVID-19. It takes up to 10 years to develop a vaccine.

The AIDS vaccine has not been invented in so many years. However, the very promising news is that in just 10 months, in the year 2020, multiple vaccines for coronavirus have been made and its application in the human body has also started.

Two vaccines, Pfizer-BioNtech and Moderna, have been approved. The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine is also about to be approved. Russia has started vaccination by approving its Sputnik-5 vaccine. China is also going to suddenly approve of their Sinovac vaccine.

The year 2020 will be marked in the pages of history for some more reasons. This year's US presidential election was completely different than any other in the country.

Newly-elected President Joe Biden and defeated incumbent President Donald Trump have both received so many "popular votes" that no US presidential candidate has received them in the past.

Joe Biden received 8,12,61,502 popular votes. On the other hand, Trump got  7,42,22,593 popular votes.

Biden received far more popular votes than President Trump. He got 306 electoral votes.

Trump got 232. But so far President Trump has not congratulated the newly elected president, which continues to be a tradition of American democracy.

The court has dismissed more than 50 lawsuits filed by Trump alleging fraud. Although the Supreme Court unanimously passed a "stop" order, President Trump is not refraining from doing so.

Women's suffrage was recognized in America 100 years ago in 1919. And 100 years later, Kamala Harris, the first woman to hold the second-highest office of vice president, has been elected.

This is also a record. The United States has seen the murders of blacks, George Floyd and Breonna Taylor in 2020. So the idols of the leaders of slavery were demolished and the anti-apartheid movement was intensified.

This year alone the world has seen multiple, devastating fires.

Global pandemic situation

The coronavirus has spread to 16 countries around the world. The number of identified patients has exceeded 80 million. The death toll in Corona 1.6 million.

More than five and a half million people have recovered from the corona, according to Johns Hopkins University and Worldmeters.

However, most of them are suffering from post-COVID complications. Patients, especially those who have returned from the hospital's ICU, are facing serious problems with their lungs, heart, kidneys and diabetes.

The United States is the most affected country in the world. The number of corona patients in the country has exceeded two crores.

About 340 thousand people have died. The number of corona patients in India has crossed 10 million. 101thousand people have died.

The number of corona patients in Brazil has exceeded 6 million. Death touches 200 thousand. The United Kingdom, Mexico, Russia, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, India and other countries are struggling with COVID-19 and death.

The first coronavirus was detected in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. The first patient died of corona in China on January 9, 2020. The announcement came on January 11.

The first to warn of the deadly coronavirus was a Chinese doctor who worked as an ophthalmologist at a hospital in Wuhan. His Name was Lee Wenliang. Sadly, he eventually died of coronavirus.

The Chinese government kept him under strict surveillance for revealing the virus. The first corona patient was identified outside China on January 11 in Thailand. However, due to the strict precaution of Thailand, the coronavirus could not spread there.

The first patient outside of China died of corona in the Philippines on February 2. The World Health Organization declared a global health emergency on January 30 due to the corona outbreak.

On February 11, the disease was named 'Covid-19' from coronavirus. The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus a 'global pandemic' on March 11 due to the rapid spread of the global coronavirus.

Corona's new look!

With the discovery of the vaccine and its application to the human body, the people of the world have begun to dream of new hope, at a time when news of a new strain of the coronavirus (Strain) has caused concern.

Coronavirus, a new feature, is spreading rapidly in London and south-east England, British health officials say. They describe it as a new variant, a virus with new features.

This new virus is spreading at a rate of more than 70 per cent. More than 40 countries have suspended flights to the United Kingdom over the incident.

News of a new coronavirus outbreak is not over yet. Its origin is South Africa. Scientists in that country say that this variant of the virus also 'spreads rapidly'. Scientists say that a specific part of both viruses has changed to N501Y.

The viruses infect the cells of the human body with that part. This new coronavirus has spread to different countries. The new virus has also been reported in Singapore and Bangladesh.

Top infectious disease specialist in the United States, Anthony Fauci says the new type of corona may have already crossed the Atlantic.

Scientists say the coronavirus has mutated 18 times since the outbreak in Wuhan, China, in December last year.

Vaccines and New Year's hopes
World-renowned technology personality, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has described 2021 as "a year of optimism".

The new year will be better than the previous year, he wrote. Because the whole world has united in the fight against COVID-19. Governments and companies around the world and scientists are working together to end the epidemic.

Vaccines developed by Pfizer and BioNtech have proven to be 95 per cent effective. The Moderna Vaccine is 94 per cent effective and the Oxford AstroZeneca Vaccine is 80 per cent effective.

Scientists are also optimistic about the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. By 2021, corona vaccine and treatment advances will reach a point where its global impact will continue to grow.

Masks, social distance and other hygiene rules must be followed to save lives until the vaccine reaches everywhere. Through this, it is possible to reduce the rate of spread of the virus.

There is also news of frustration. Coronavirus vaccines are being bought exclusively by rich countries for their citizens.

Countries in America and Europe have bought three times the vaccine; Canada has bought four times as much. Poor and least developed countries are helpless in this regard.

If the United Nations and the World Health Organization do not step in, these countries will be deprived of vaccines.

Integrated programs must be taken to control the pandemic. Nobel laureate. According to Muhammad Yunus, human life must be placed above the profits of pharmaceutical companies.

The COVID vaccine should be delivered to all parts of the world in the shortest time and at the lowest cost. Otherwise, the pandemic cannot be suppressed. '

The new president of the United States

Joe Biden has been elected President of the United States in 2020. He will take over as the country's 48th president on January 20 of the new year.

He has successfully crossed almost all the stages of being elected. The next level is the joint meeting of the United States Congress, which will be held on January 8. When this meeting is over, there will be no more obstacles in front of him.

The inauguration will be on January 20. He will enter the White House that day. And from there, President Trump's departure will happen.

Influential Time magazine has named newly elected President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris as Person of the Year.

They have been named Time's Person of the Year to change the image of the United States, to promote empathy rather than divisiveness, and to help the troubled world recover from the plague.

Joe Biden has already announced that as president, he will ensure that 100 million people in the United States are vaccinated against corona in the first 100 days.

Joe Biden has publicly vaccinated himself in front of the camera to make people interested in getting vaccinated.

He told Time Magazine, ‘I will leave a much richer and better United States than the one I would get on the first day of taking power; That is my intention. "

Biden also announced that he would return the United States to the climate deal in the new year. The problem of climate change is also emerging as a major challenge for the world to come.
